HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WEAR MY MAGNETIC JEWELRY?

Decide that for yourself by 'listening to your own body'. If you're wearing it for the therapy aspect, it is suggested, for best results, start off wearing them 24/7 - however, we are advising you take them off before you bathe. If you forget, no harm! Just remember to wipe them off and attend to the clasp as described below. They will survive the water and soapy conditions, but it's not advised.

Then wear your magnets as necessary -- Some people like to wear them all the time and others wear them as needed. It's your call!

DO THE MAGNETS HAVE TO TOUCH MY BODY?

No, magnets penetrate. So, just wear a piece of jewelry so it’s comfortable for you. You can wear it over your sweater or shirt. Anklets, if can't be worn directly atop the skin (or over your nylons), however are best worn under your sock (the extra thickness of a sock may make it too tight, allowing the anklet to flex and fall off).

HOW DO I CARE FOR & MAINTAIN MY MAGNETIC JEWELRY?

KC Kreations advises you remove your jewelry before you shower, bathe or swim. Chlorine or salt water may damage your magnetic hematite and other components over a period of time. It is not advised you put your magnetic jewelry products in any type of jewelry cleaner solutions or jewelry cleaning machines. If you soil them, simply wipe with soft wet cloth using mild soap, rinse under running water, then dry, especially between the tight contact areas of the high-strength clasp. Skin discoloration may occur if you have high acid secretions from your skin or low pH levels. Salt secretions (heavy perspiration) from your skin may cause mild discoloration to some components or deterioration to the magnetic clasp.

I'M OFF TO THE BEACH. ANY SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS?

Oh, yeah! TAKE OFF YOUR MAGNETIC JEWELRY and leave them in a safe place away from the elements! Sand particles can accumulate quickly all over these high-gauss strength magnets and clasps. If you find yourself in this predicament, you'll need to remedy the situation: Take a lot of duct tape-like pieces and with the sticky side out, begin dabbing the magnets, removing bits of sand from in between and atop the beads and clasp. This can be a very tedious chore, so patience will be a virtue here! If you can't get all the sand off, then consider sending it to KC Kreations after you've given it your best effort. NOTE: Sometimes it's more cost effective to purchase a new item than having us remedy this item for you!

HOW DO I USE & CARE FOR THE HIGH-POWERED MAGNETIC CLASP?

The magnetic clasp is extremely strong, due to the high-gauss magnetism. DO NOT PULL CLASP APART - you could eventually damage the item! INSTEAD, SLIDE THE CLASP APART or SLIP A FINGERNAIL IN BETWEEN THE TWO PIECES AT THE SEAM and TILT THE TWO CLASPS APART FROM EACH OTHER. If you do get your jewelry wet, remove the piece and dry off the contacts between the clasp...this area is where light corrosion or oxidation could occur because of the tight contacts! If, for some reason, you experience this, gently dab this area with the sticky side of some duct-like tape a few times -- this will remove any debris that may have lessened the attraction.

I'M EXPERIENCING SOME CORROSION ON MY HIGH-POWERED MAGNETIC CLASP. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

Some people's PH balance (body's chemistry) can cause this to happen -- while many others never experience this. Also, heavy usage (i.e. working around solvents, soil, abrasive materials, etc) can wear through and breakdown the high-powered neodymium magnets' coating, allowing corrosion and the need to replace the clasp.

There are two options:

1) Most used, preferred and recommended of the two options! Order another necklace, bracelet or anklet from the website and have your older item re-strung at the same time. It's kind of like wearing the same pair of shoes every day -- they begin showing signs of rapid wear-and-tear -- so, alternating the two items allows for more wear-longevity!

IMPORTANT: On website at Check Out -- in COMMENTS type "Returning old item(s) for re-string! HOLD SHIPMENT" Now you've alerted us of an incoming parcel and we will then fabricate your newly-ordered item(s), wait for your return parcel, and then combine the two shipments (eliminating your need to include the $5 return s/h charges for the re-strung job). You will, however, still be responsible for the re-string/labor charges* below.

I'VE HAD AN ALLERGIC REACTION TO THE CLASPS USED IN MAGNETIC JEWELRY. ANY SOLUTION?

There are a few who are allergic to the nickel in the COATING OF THE CLASP. If that is an issue for you, make a notation in the COMMENTS portion at CHECK OUT and we will put on a hypo-allergenic clasp (only available on single- and double-strand jewelry). This hypo-allergenic clasp is just as strong, however it will sport a black epoxy sleeve covering the regular magnetic clasp not allowing it to touch your skin -- problem solved!

WHAT IS THE MATERIAL USED TO STRING MY JEWELRY TOGETHER?

An extremely durable, extra strong 80-pound test, incredible abrasion-resistant Copolymer Cord (high strength, yet supple) - specially formulated for magnetic jewelry holds the therapeutic beads together – it’s NOT your typical fishing line! On some of the dainty designs we may use 60-pound test Copolymer cord....even more supple and to accommodate the smaller holes on some of the smaller components.

UH OH! IT BROKE! NOW WHAT?

Should it break, retrieve all the pieces -- the magnetic components will clump up together (if it wasn't a high-force break) and the non-magnetic components may travel a ways! I HAVE MAGNETIC JEWELRY PURCHASED FROM ANOTHER VENDOR -- IT'S BROKEN! I'M CONSIDERING A NEW DESIGN! CAN AND IS KC KREATIONS WILLING TO REPAIR OR CHANGE IT FOR ME?

Most likely we can and will! Not having a visual on it, most magnetic jewelry is typically fabricated similarly. Give us a phone call or email us about the specific circumstances. A photo of it emailed to us is a good idea. It's impossible to give an accurate quote until we know what we're dealing with. For sure there will be the $5 return shipping and handling charge if it makes its way to KC Kreations. Otherwise, we need to pow-wow and together make some informed decisions.

HOW LONG WILL MAGNETS MAINTAIN THEIR POWER?

Properly used they should retain their powerful magnetic field for a lifetime. Research claims they can become demagnetized if exposed to high heat of 250 degrees F° or more. Yikes! – now that's hotter than any body should ever experience!

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED IF I'M USING Rx MEDS WITH MAGNETIC JEWELRY?

This is a question for your medical professional. If you're using medications for conditions diagnosed by a doctor (i.e. High blood pressure, pain relievers, etc.), do know that some meds may become more EFFECTIVE with the use of magnets and dosages may need to be adjusted by your doctor. Monitor yourself, be aware of changes to your body and contact your physician if conditions change.

CAN ALL PEOPLE USE MAGNETS?

Wearers of a PACEMAKER, DEFIBRILLATOR, INSULIN PUMP OR OTHER IMPLANTED ELECTRO-MEDICAL DEVICE should AVOID MAGNETS.

As a precaution, PREGNANT WOMEN, OR IF YOU SUSPECT YOU ARE PREGNANT, should consult with their physician before applying magnets to their bodies, as should CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 7. And, magnetic products should never be placed directly over an open wound.

HOW ABOUT COMPUTER DISKS, CREDIT CARDS, CELL PHONES, WATCHES, BATTERY-OPERATED DEVICES OR OTHER MAGNETIC MEDIA?

Watches and cell phones and any battery-powered item can be affected if magnets are carried/worn/laid closely together. Always a wise precaution: You should keep magnets a safe distance from bankcard magnetic strips, computer discs and other magnetic products. It’s not advised to remove your jewelry and lay it in close proximity (say, within 8") to your watch or hearing aid. Batteries don't care much for magnets!!! We advise you wear your bracelet on the opposite wrist from your battery-powered watch. Wind-up watches seem to not be affected. Although we're finding it's not always and only about the battery ~ sometimes it's about what materials the internal components are made of that can be affected, or not.

Regarding your PC computer disk drive - usually the tower is so far away, it’s never a problem. For a laptop, having them nearby should not harm it. However, on some laptops, it has turned 'OFF' the computer, but hasn't done any damage to it, other than be a nuisance or inconvenience. If this becomes the case, learn to avoid the area that causes this issue - or, here's what we've done - turn the clasp (usually the strongest magnet on a bracelet) UPwards, away from the surface of the keyboard area while working on your laptop - usually, what we've found to be the more comfortable position when typing!

OPPS! I ACCIDENTALLY ORDERED THE WRONG SIZE, NOW WHAT?

All orders are handmade by KC Kreations to the ordered specifications (size, color, alloy and kustom desires) from each customer. If the customer requested an incorrect size for the intended wearer and you chose to have it re-sized, you'll be responsible for charges incurred. If size was incorrectly made by error on KC Kreations' part, no charges will apply.

Mail it to KC Kreations with $5 to cover return shipping & handling, PLUS $5 (five dollars) PER STRAND(s) for labor charge PER PIECE (item) -- via USPS with your NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL ADDRESS and the new DESIRED MEASUREMENT. The piece will be re-made to the new size and if there are considerable beads to be added or removed, the re-size price will most likely remain the same (as stated above). However, if the item was worn for a considerable length of time (say, 3 months after order date) before determining this item warranted a size change, additional component/bead charges may be incurred. DOES MAGNET THERAPY HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

As indicated in the results of all the important scientific studies, no adverse side effects have been observed with magnetic hematite jewelry as therapy. A very small percentage of users may experience mild, temporary symptoms such as light-headedness, a tingling sensation, dull headache, a feeling of warmth and increased thirst. Again, you should always refer to a medical professional before applying magnetics and certainly if any adverse effects are experienced as a result of placing magnetic jewelry on your precious body.
